Merry Christmas Dec 24/22

Looks like the market finished the week off with a nice Christmas rally as we head into a holiday weekend. Not much for news going on other than the market is getting concerned over the cold snap in the US. Also worth noting that even Paris wheat rallied on the news of the US cold snap which is interesting as it has had more influence on US wheat lately. Something to think about when it comes to winter wheat and this cold snap is they estimate that up to 30% of the winter wheat crop could see winter kill or some damage but one also has to keep in mind that only 32% of the entire winter wheat crop is in good/excellent condition going into dormancy. One kicker to the whole wheat story is that genetics have made it more resilient so unless there is some severe visible damage we really wont know the extent of it until it breaks dormancy in March April.
